Pleasant Bay Community Boating (PBCB) announced the appointment of Mike Trovato as their new Executive Director.
Trovato joins PBCB with significant managerial, marketing, and fundraising experience in both the private and public sectors including management of well-known international sailing events such as Key West Race Week and US port stopovers for the round-the-world Volvo Ocean Race.
He is also a co-founder of Sail Cape Cod, where he was President and volunteer Executive Director for several years and was instrumental in the development of their adaptive and outreach programs in addition to organizational management and advancement.
“Mike has demonstrated that he understands community boating and is passionate about it” said PBCB Board President Ted Baylis “we think his experience, his skills and his leadership will be a big asset as PBCB continues to grow and mature”.
PBCB’s programs include youth and adult sailing and paddling programs, learn-to-sail courses, Sailing & Science Summer Camp for children, boat rentals, marine education and environmental stewardship programs and a Speaker Series. Some welcome additions for 2021 will include a new ADA-compliant dock to expand the adaptive programs and a floating classroom research vessel for the marine education and environmental stewardship programs.
